MO's is booking music gigs and poetry reads at South Park BBQ & Bar. South Park is located at 887 So. Highland, just south of Park on the west side of Highland across from Walgreens. South Park opens at 4pm and has a great outdoor patio with full stage and sound. Call Scotty (901)314-2492 for booking information.
We had the last cup of coffee at our 3521 Walker location. Although we are still hopeful of getting a lease for the old Rally Point space, this has not happened yet. Jeff at South Park is interested in selling the South Park location and we are working with him for a few weeks to see how we can get a 24/7 coffeehouse up and running there at the South Park location and/or the university area. So we will keep you posted on Myspace and the website. MO's Entertainment Association, a non-profit corporation, has been formed. It is a membership association which exists to foster and promote traditional, contemporary and multicultural music, film, visual arts and crafts, writings, fashion, culinary arts and related creative arts industries year round. A benefit held on Sunday, Aug. 4th, 2008 raised money which will be used for the following projects: produce a compilation cd to be marketed as part of the Memphis Gift Basket beginning 9/1/08, apply for a 501 c 3 non profit status which will allow us to seek a substantial amount of grants, pay for renovations to space to be used by MO's Entertainment, and create a computer resource center for area artists. |
